Israel’s Peres Undergoes Emergency Cardiac Procedure

Former Israeli President Shimon Peres has undergone a cardiac catheterization in a Tel Aviv-area hospital after experiencing a mild heart attack, his doctor reported in a statement.

The 92-year-old Peres was taken to the medical facility after reporting chest pains, according to Rafi Walden, Peres’s personal physician. A narrowed artery was diagnosed and widened, he said.

Peres will remain in the hospital under observation and is expected to resume his routine soon, he added.
