Shootings in Somali Capital Mogadishu Leave Two Dead, Police Say

Separate shootings in the Somali capital Mogadishu killed an intelligence officer and a central bank official, according to local police.

Unidentified gunmen shot Abdirisaq Omar Hajji Masale, who was working for the government’s intelligence agency, as he travelled to his home in the city’s southern Taleh district, according to local police spokesman Ali Mohamud.

The attack came less than three hours after gunmen killed Abdulaziz Elmi, a civil servant working for the central bank, as he was on his way to work, said Farah Nur, a police officer.
