Comcast Denies Daily Mail Report That It's in Talks to Buy ITV

Comcast Corp. denied a report by the Daily Mail over the weekend that the biggest U.S. cable company is contemplating a bid for British broadcaster ITV Plc.

Without citing its sources, the Daily Mail said Saturday that Comcast executives had met with ITV executives and “are believed to be considering” an offer for the U.K. production house, which has top-rated shows such as “Downton Abbey.”

“We don’t comment on M&A rumors, but the speculation on ITV is just completely inaccurate,” Comcast spokesman John Demming said in an e-mailed statement.
