U.A.E.'s Enviromena, Spain's TSK Win Deal for Jordan Solar Plant

  • $128 million plant financed by Abu Dhabi Fund for Development
  • Jordan plans to add 600 megawatts of solar, wind by 2016

Jordan awarded Enviromena Power Systems and TSK Group a contract to build a 100 megawatt solar plant, Haidar Gammaz, spokesman of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said in a telephone interview.

The $128 million solar plant in the country’s southern region of Al Queira is funded by a grant from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, he said.

The kingdom plans to add 600 megawatts of solar and wind power by 2016, Jordanian Energy Minister Ibrahim Saif said on Sept. 14.
