Explosion in Somali Capital Kills 1 Person, Wounds Governor

An car bomb in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, killed at least one person and injured six others, including the governor of the central Galguduud region, a police official said.

The explosion occurred on a busy road and targeted the convoy of Galguduud Governor Hussein Wehliye Irfo, the police’s Mohamed Aden said by phone on Saturday. The governor suffered minor injuries and was stable, he said.
