U.K. Environment Ministry Publishes London Air Plan on Website

The U.K. government said that London is likely to meet European Union air quality rules by 2025, an improvement on previous projections that the capital wouldn’t do so until at least 2030.

Measures introduced in the capital alone would ensure compliance by 2030, with additional U.K.-wide policies bringing that forward to 2025, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural affairs said Thursday in a document posted on its website. The capital has been in breach of EU rules on nitrogen dioxide emissions since 2010.
