Australia Confirms U.S. Request for Military Assets, ABC Says

Australia has confirmed it received a request from the U.S. to send more military assets to the Middle East, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported, without saying where it got the information.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter made the request earlier this week to all countries involved in the coalition battling Islamic State targets in Syria and Iraq, the broadcaster said.

The Australian government is yet to announce how it will respond to the request, the ABC said.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
