  • Deputy will take over duties during transition period
  • Chairman Lim Ho Kee will get more involved in management

Singapore Post Ltd. is looking for a new chief executive after Wolfgang Baier resigned to pursue new endeavors, the company said.

Mervyn Lim, Deputy Group CEO (Corporate Services), will cover the work of the chief executive, while 41-year-old Baier will support a handover until June 30, SingPost said in a statement to the stock exchange. Deputy Chairman Goh Yeow Tin will become an executive director for 12 months as part of the transition and chairman Lim Ho Kee will increase his involvement, the company said.

Baier joined SingPost as CEO in February 2011 to oversee the development of the international wing. He was formerly a partner at McKinsey & Co.

"Under Wolfgang’s leadership and great team effort, SingPost has been established as a regional leader in eCommerce logistics business, with a strong focus on digitising our business," Lim, the chairman, said in the statement.
