U.K. Stocks Fall as Miner Rout Resumes; Anglo American Tumbles

U.K. stocks fell for a fifth session, its longest losing streak since August, as a slump in mining shares continued.

Anglo American Plc extended a record drop yesterday, plunging 12 percent. Glencore Plc fell 5 percent, while Fresnillo Plc tumbled 8 percent. Ashtead Group Plc rallied after second quarter profit beat estimates.

The FTSE 100 Index declined 0.4 percent to 6,112.51 at 9:40 a.m. in London. The broader FTSE All-Share Index dropped 0.4 percent, while Ireland’s ISEQ Index lost 0.3 percent.
