Ecobank's Head of Economic Research Angus Downie Resigns

Angus Downie quit as the London-based head of economic research for Ecobank Transnational Inc., Africa’s most geographically diverse lender.

Downie had worked at the pan-African lender for five years, he said in an e-mailed note to clients. He reported to Edward George, head of group research. Downie didn’t say what job he would be doing next.

He worked at the Institute of International Finance in Washington from 2006 to 2010, analyzing Middle Eastern and African economies, according to a biography on Ecobank’s website. Before that he worked at the African Development Bank in Tunis, Tunisia.

Ecobank, based in Lome, Togo, and listed in Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Ghana, operates in 36 sub-Saharan African countries.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
