Canada Fully Engaged Against IS Without Airstrikes, Trudeau Says

Canada will remain “fully engaged” in combating Islamic State even without carrying out airstrikes, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.

Trudeau, speaking in Paris after meeting French President Francois Hollande, didn’t say when Canada would cease air operations against the Islamist group, which was one of his campaign promises.

Before lunching with Hollande at the French presidential palace, the recently elected Canadian prime minister visited the sites of the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris. Trudeau said he and Hollande also discussed cooperation between France and Quebec to prevent the radicalization of young people.
