UN Peacekeeper in South Sudan Shot Dead; Colleague QuestionedOkech Francis
A United Nations peacekeeper in South Sudan was shot dead at the mission’s base in the capital, Juba, with one of his colleagues being investigated over the incident, a spokeswoman said.
Medics at the base’s clinic declared the Rwandan national dead of gunshot wounds on Monday morning, the UN mission’s acting spokeswoman, Shantal Persaud, said by phone from the city. A Rwandan peacekeeper is being questioned, she said.
