British Stocks Jump Most in Six Weeks as Smiths Group Soars 10%

U.K. shares rose for a second day, with almost all of the FTSE 100 Index’s companies up.

Smiths Group Plc rallied 10 percent after Panmure Gordon & Co. said its first-quarter performance was resilient. Rolls-Royce Holdings Plc rose 5.1 percent, rebounding for a second day after its worst weekly drop since at least 1988. 

The FTSE 100 added 2 percent, the most since Oct. 5. The broader FTSE All-Share Index jumped 1.9 percent, while Ireland’s ISEQ Index rose 1.4 percent.
