Martin Shkreli Responds to Hillary Clinton's Latest Twitter Swipe: LOL

Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli has a message for Hillary Clinton and U.S. senators scrutinizing his firm's dramatic price hike on a prescription drug: "lol."

That was his response to a comment on Twitter from a woman who urged him to "stop tweeting and prepare to defend the indefensible"—a 5,000-percent increase in the price of Daraprim–which was a response to a tweet from the Democratic presidential front-runner calling Turing's 10-percent reduction in the price "indefensible."

"So glad to see Turing CEO taking this so seriously," said Clinton spokesman Ian Sams. "The guy lol-ing is preventing doctors from effectively treating patients due to his greed."

Senators Susan Collins and Claire McCaskill, the top Republican and Democrat on the Senate Special Committee on Aging, wrote to Shkreli on Wednesday asking for his cooperation in the panel's investigation of the increase of the drug's price from $13.50 per tablet to $750.
