Carlyle Says Travelers CEO Fishman Leaves Board Amid ALS Fight

Carlyle Group LP said that Jay Fishman, the chief executive officer of Travelers Cos., stepped down from the asset manager’s board while fighting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS.

Anthony Welters, executive chairman of investment company Black Ivy Group and a senior adviser to the office of the CEO at UnitedHealth Group Inc., was named to join the panel as an independent director, Washington-based Carlyle said in a statement Wednesday.
