Ex-Lockheed Operations Chief Kubasik Joins L-3 as President

Christopher Kubasik is joining defense contractor L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. as president and chief operating officer, a newly created position.

Kubasik, 54, held the same posts at Lockheed Martin Corp., where he oversaw day-to-day operations from 2010 to 2012 until resigning two months before he was to have been named chief executive officer. He stepped down after an internal probe into a relationship with a subordinate.

Since 2014, Kubasik has provided strategic guidance and merger advice to aerospace and defense companies as president and COO of Seabury Group LLC, a New York-based consultant.

L-3 makes command, control, communications, intelligence and reconnaissance systems and is led by CEO Michael Strianese, 59. Its shares fell 9.2 percent this year through Tuesday to $114.55 as the New York-based company contends with falling revenue and defense spending constraints.
