Nomura Said to Hire Creelan-Sandford for Banking Researchby
He joins from Macquarie Bank to cover south European banks
His appointment follows the departures of Quinn and Hernandez
Nomura Holdings Inc. hired Macquarie Bank Ltd. analyst Benjie Creelan-Sandford to cover southern European banks for its equity research team, a person with knowledge of the appointment said.
Creelan-Sandford joins the bank following the departure of Nomura analysts Daragh Quinn, who joined Keefe, Bruyette & Woods earlier this month, and Jaime Hernandez, who has been appointed head of investor relations at Spain’s Unicaja Banco SA, spokesmen for KBW and Unicaja said.
Creelan-Sandford couldn’t immediately be reached.
At Macquarie, Creelan-Sandford covered Spanish, Portuguese and Italian lenders, including Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA, Banco Santander SA, UniCredit SpA.
