Volkswagen Sued by West Virginia Over Clean Diesel Claims

West Virginia’s attorney general sued Volkswagen AG’s U.S. unit seeking restitution and civil penalties over claims it deceived car buyers about clean-diesel engines.

The suit was filed Friday in state court in West Virginia, according to a copy of the filing provided by Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. The lawsuit follows the Sept. 18 disclosure that some of Volkswagen’s clean-diesel vehicles were designed to cheat emissions tests
