Nigerian Cabinet List Includes NNPC Head, Fashola, ThisDay Says

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari included Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. Managing Director Ibe Kachikwu and former Lagos Governor Babatunde Fashola in a list of proposed cabinet appointments, ThisDay reported, without saying where it got the information from.

Former Rivers state Governor Chibuike Amaechi, ex-Ekiti Governor Kayode Fayemi and former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant-General Abdulrahman Dambazau are also among nominees, the Lagos-based newspaper said. A list of 21 names was submitted to the Senate yesterday and another 16 will be submitted at a later date, it said.

Kachikwu is expected to become minister of state for petroleum resources while remaining at the helm of the NNPC, the newspaper said. Buhari will be minister of petroleum resources, it cited the president as saying in an interview.
