TDC A/S has held recent talks to buy Swedish cable company Com Hem AB in what could be the largest acquisition for Denmark’s dominant telecommunications provider, according to people familiar with the matter.

The carriers have held discussions on and off over the past months, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private. More recently, Pernille Erenbjerg, the former TDC finance chief who took over as chief executive officer in August, is warming up to a transaction, said one of the people. No decision has been made and any deal could still fall apart, they said.
