OMERS Ventures’ Kevin Kimsa Leaves Canadian Venture Capital FirmGerrit De Vynck
Kevin Kimsa, who joined OMERS Ventures two years ago and sat on the boards of several high-profile technology startups, has left the Canadian firm.
Kimsa left the venture capital arm of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System pension fund in July, he said Friday in a phone interview. Kimsa declined to comment on the reason for his departure.
Kimsa joined OMERS in 2013 and was a managing director. He served on the boards of several of OMERS’ portfolio companies, including Vision Critical Communications Inc. and Wave Accounting Inc. Kimsa confirmed he is no longer on any of the boards.
Kimsa also is the co-founder and executive chairman of AudienceView Ticketing Corp., which builds software to help organize ticket sales for theaters and sports venues. He said he is looking for opportunities for other board positions at technology companies and could make personal investments in startups.
A spokeswoman for OMERS Ventures didn’t immediately return requests for comment.
