Assailants tossed a grenade at a guard post at Istanbul’s Dolmabahce Palace and then opened fire, setting off a gun battle in the center of Turkey’s largest city. No one was killed and two members of a leftist extremist group were detained.

The two suspected attackers were members of the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party–Front, or DHKP-C, a group that’s carried out numerous attacks against Turkish and American interests in the country since the 1970s, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
