UBS Said to Hire Deutsche Bank Equities Co-Head CapannaSimone Foxman and Zeke Faux
Derek Capanna, co-head of equity sales at Deutsche Bank AG, is departing for UBS Group AG, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.
Capanna, who was a managing director at Deutsche Bank, will head equities distribution at UBS, one of the people said, asking not to be identified because the information isn’t public. Jonny Potter, who had been running equity sales at Deutsche Bank with Capanna, will assume his responsibilities from London, another person said.
UBS put two former Deutsche Bank executives, Roger Naylor and Robert Karofsky, in charge of its equities business in January. Capanna, a 21-year veteran of Deutsche Bank and a predecessor firm, had worked with them there, according to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records.
Capanna and a spokeswoman for UBS didn’t immediately respond to e-mails seeking comment. Amanda Williams, a spokeswoman for Deutsche Bank, declined to comment.
