Archie Comic Book Characters Now Wear Skinny Jeans and Send Texts

Archie is now a far cry from the buck-toothed bumpkin of earlier days

This 1960's illustration by artist Dan DeCarlo shows Archie's wholesome, simplistic aesthetic as he rocks out with his friends in polyester pants (also note Veronica's patent leather go-go boots). Despite a few time-marked wardrobe changes, the comic's overall look and feel remained virtually unchanged until the launch of "Archie #1."
