Turkey’s Medicana Hospitals in Talks With Buyers to Sell Stake

Turkish hospital chain Medicana is in talks with as many as six investor groups about a possible partnership after the owners revived plans to sell part of the business, Chairman Huseyin Bozkurt said.

Medicana Saglik Grubu, as the Istanbul-based group is known, is holding talks with investors including international financial groups, and is close to signing a preliminary agreement with one potential suitor, said Bozkurt, who also owns the company, in a telephone interview on Thursday. Bozkurt declined to name the investors.

Acibadem Saglik Hizmetleri ve Ticaret AS, controlled by Malaysia’s IHH Healthcare Bhd, and Bozkurt decided in January to end exclusive talks and a due-diligence process that began in September, people with knowledge of the matter said at the time.
