Merkel Weathers Spy Affair to Stay Most Liked Politician

Chancellor Angela Merkel appears to be weathering the latest spy scandal to hit Germany as polls indicate that allegations over espionage cooperation with the U.S. have yet to harm the German leader’s popularity.

Manfred Guellner, who heads Berlin-based polling company Forsa, said his research suggests the latest allegations of collusion between Germany’s top spy agency, BND, and the U.S. National Security Agency won’t affect her standing.
