The big firms boost revenue

The 100 richest law firms in the U.S. earned a combined $81 billion in revenue in 2014—a 4.6 percent increase from 2013. When the American Lawyer started ranking firms in 1984, average profits per partner at the 50 firms surveyed were $289,000; today profits per partner are about $1.5 million.
