Israel’s Flug Tops Central Bankers With Most Rate Surprises

Central bankers across the developed world are regularly taking investors by surprise, and Bank of Israel Governor Karnit Flug is top of the class.

Since taking over in July 2013 from Stanley Fischer, Flug has followed his unpredictable lead, issuing six rate decisions that ran counter to most economists’ forecasts -- more than any other central banker in the OECD, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
