China has deployed all 700 troops it pledged for United Nations peacekeeping operations in South Sudan, the UN mission in the country said.
The final batch of 130 soldiers arrived on Wednesday, mission spokeswoman Ariane Quentier said by phone from the South Sudanese capital, Juba. The Chinese troops will help secure sites at UN bases in the city inhabited by civilians who’ve fled violence over the past 16 months, she said.
