Masterwork’s Li Becomes Billionaire as Shares Surge to Record

Li Li, Masterwork Machinery Co.’s chairman, became a billionaire as the developer of printing equipment climbed to a record Wednesday.

Li, 44, owns 50.3 percent of the Tianjin-based company together with her mother, Pei Meiying. She has a fortune valued at $1 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The stock climbed 1.8 percent at the Shenzhen close to 63.27 yuan ($10.20), the highest since it went public in 2011.

Wang Yan, securities representative of Masterwork Machinery, confirmed the billionaire’s shareholdings.
