China Construction Bank Corp., the nation’s second-largest lender, reported its first quarterly decline in profit since the global financial crisis, adding to signs of stress in the banking industry because of an economic slowdown.

Net income for the three months through Dec. 31 fell 1.7 percent to 37.5 billion yuan ($6 billion) from a year earlier, a Hong Kong exchange filing showed on Friday. That trailed the 40.5 billion yuan average of 27 analysts’ estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
