Australia Reaches Cricket World Cup Final by Defeating India

Australia beat defending champion India by 95 runs to advance to the cricket World Cup final against co-host New Zealand.

Australia set India a target of 329 runs at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with Mitchell Johnson scoring 27 runs off 13 balls in the closing overs. India was all out on 233 runs in

46.3 overs. Captain MS Dhoni was runout on 65 by Glenn Maxwell after 65 balls.

New Zealand defeated South Africa on Tuesday by four wickets to reach its first World Cup final, which will be played Sunday in Melbourne.

Australia’s Steve Smith scored 105 runs from 93 balls, hitting 11 fours and two sixes before being bowled out by India’s Umesh Yadav, who took 4-72. Aaron Finch added 81 runs for the hosts.
