BofA Said to Hire Ian Pearce as Head of Sterling Credit Trading

Bank of America Corp. has hired Ian Pearce as head of sterling credit trading, a newly created position, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Pearce will be based in London and will report to Mayur Jethwa, head of credit products trading for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the information is private. Pearce was head of European credit trading at Royal Bank of Canada until January.

Victoria Garrod, a Bank of America spokeswoman in London, declined to comment on Pearce’s appointment.

Prior to joining RBC in 2011, Pearce worked at UBS Group AG, where he was co-head of sterling credit and European asset-backed securities.
