Lesotho’s opposition Democratic Congress said it will form a coalition government with smaller parties to end the rule of Prime Minister Thomas Thabane after election results showed no clear winner.
The DC won 47 seats compared with 46 seats secured by Thabane’s All Basotho Convention, Independent Electoral Commission Chairman Mahapela Lehohla said on Wednesday. A party needs 61 seats in the National Assembly to form a government on its own.
