Ghanaian President Mahama Says Power Shortages Hurting Growth

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama said the lack of reliable electricity supply is hampering growth and hurting businesses across the country.

“The effects and frustrations posed by the power deficit are clearly felt in our work places, our homes, schools and hospitals,” Mahama told lawmakers on Thursday in his annual speech to Parliament, known as the State of the Nation Address. “Big businesses and industries are also suffering and threatening to lay off workers.”
