Behind the Scenes of One Young Designer’s Blockbuster Fashion Week

Jace Lipstein of Grungy Gentleman takes his business to the next level

Grungy Gentleman's celebrity-packed Fashion Week

There's a global industry behind New York Fashion Week's carefully guarded tents and promotional parties. It's big business. Established talents rise and fall, and young, emerging designers get their shot at making the brand.

Jace Lipstein of Grungy Gentleman is one of those fresh faces. He’s a blogger turned designer who is about to show his second collection. He’s a member of the new guard of fashion—the self-made entrepreneurial generation.

We spent the week leading up to his show following his journey, from model fittings to a star-studded party with partner Express and a billboard in Times Square, to the runway event itself. Along the way he's joined by hip-hop stars Ludacris, Juelz Santana, and the LOX, plus his movie-star brother Skylar Astin and basketball player Stephen Curry. Watch as he tries to tackle the biggest week of his life.

This is his fashion week story.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
