U.S. Benchmark Oil Jumps in New York, Paring Monthly Decline

U.S. benchmark oil futures jumped as much as 2.3 percent in New York, paring their seventh straight monthly retreat.

West Texas Intermediate for March delivery rose 76 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $45.29 a barrel as of 10:04 a.m.

Brent for March settlement added 29 cents, or 0.6 percent, to $49.42 a barrel.
