SMRT Shares Jump 1.5%, Set for Highest Close in Almost 3 Years

SMRT Corp. shares climbed 1.5 percent after it said third-quarter profit rose 58 percent as the company benefited from reducing losses from its bus operations.

Net income increased to S$22.5 million ($16.6 million) from S$14.2 million a year ago, according to statement to Singapore Stock Exchange yesterday. The stock advanced to S$1.755 as of 9:04 a.m. in Singapore trading, set for the highest since April 24, 2012.
