Australian Golfer Robert Allenby Says He Was Kidnapped in Hawaii

Australian golfer Robert Allenby said he was kidnapped, robbed and beaten in Hawaii.

Allenby was taken from a wine bar in Honolulu, robbed of his wallet, money, credit cards and phone before being left in a park 6 miles away, the Golf Channel reported, citing his caddie Mick Middlemo. Another friend and Middlemo had been in the bar with Allenby but weren’t with him during the incident, according to the NBC channel, which showed photos of the golfer with abrasions on his forehead and nose.

Allenby missed the cut at the Sony Open in Honolulu before the incident. He shot a 1-over 71 in the first and second rounds. The 43-year-old from Melbourne is currently 78th in the FedExCup rankings, according to the PGA Tour website.
