Voltalia Starts 30-Megawatt Wind Farm in Northeastern Brazil

Voltalia SA, a French developer of clean-energy projects, started a 30-megawatt wind farm in Brazil.

The Terral wind farm in Areia Branca in the country’s northeast is the second phase of a wider project that will see another 10 3-megawatt turbines come online this month and next, the Neuilly-Sur-Seine-based company said today in a statement on its website.

Voltalia started raising 30 million euros ($35 million) through a private placement to fund further development, it said. It also expects to generate revenue of about 27.6 million euros for the year ended Dec. 31, a 48 percent increase from 2013.
