U.S. Hands Over Lord’s Resistance Army Leader to Ugandan Forces

U.S. special forces handed over a senior leader of the rebel Lord’s Resistance Army to Uganda, which plans to send him to the International Criminal Court to face charges of crimes against humanity.

Dominic Ongwen, one of four leaders of the rebel group indicted for war crimes by the ICC, was handed over to the Ugandan People’s Defence Force contingent of the multinational force in the Central African Republic, the U.S. Mission in Uganda said in a statement on its Twitter account.
