Hungary Mulls Shielding Religious Symbols to Prevent Terrorism

Hungary’s ruling party proposed giving protected status to religious symbols among measures to prevent terror attacks like that ones that shook France last week.

“Part of prevention is that we shouldn’t stop at being politically correct and respecting the opinions of individuals but we should also recognize that there are symbols and values of communities that require special protection,” Antal Rogan, the parliamentary leader of Hungary’s ruling party, told reporters today, citing religious symbols as an example.
