Eletrobras Starts Operations at Artilleros Wind Farm in Uruguay

Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA, Brazil’s largest utility, started operations at its 65.1-megawatt wind park in Uruguay.

The Artilleros wind farm started in December with three turbines, the state-run company, known as Eletrobras, said in an e-mailed statement. The other 27 turbines will start operations next month.

Artilleros is the utility’s first project to generate energy outside Brazil. The wind farm was built by SPE Rouar, a joint venture between Eletrobras and Uruguay’s Administracion Nacional de Usinas y Transmisiones Electricas.
