Indonesia’s Anti-Graft Agency Names Police Chief Nominee Suspect

Indonesia’s anti-corruption agency named the police officer chosen by President Joko Widodo to be the next head of the force as a suspect in a graft investigation.

Budi Gunawan, a commissioner general, is being investigated for “suspicious transactions” during the period between 2003 and 2006, Abraham Samad, the head of the Corruption Eradication Commission, told reporters in Jakarta yesterday, without giving further details.
