Hands-On With Ford's New GT Supercar
A 1960s Ford GT can fetch more than $8 million—a dollar-denominated proxy for just how hot Ford fans run when they see something they like. The giant carmaker is aiming for another moonshot with a a new GT. The edition unveiled in Detroit on Monday is a carbon-fiber spaceship with a 600-horsepower mid-mounted engine. It channels air like a jet does to increase speed, cool brakes, and press the tires into the ground. Like a Ferrari, the seat is bolted to the floor for a better feel of the road. (Pedals are adjusted back and forth to fit the driver.)
