Germany’s Manz Wins $47 Million in Battery-Technology Orders

Manz AG, a German maker of solar, display and battery equipment, won orders in its battery business totaling about 40 million euros ($47 million).

The orders include production solutions for lithium-ion batteries used in electronic devices, Reutlingen, Germany-based Manz said today in an e-mailed statement. Chief Executive Officer Dieter Manz said he expects more growth in the battery segment.

“In addition to the existing extensive battery segment for consumer electronics, markets of the future, such as electro-mobility and stationary energy storage, will also drive the market dynamic further forward,” Manz said in the statement.
