RBC’s Head of European Credit Trading Ian Pearce Said to Depart

Ian Pearce left Royal Bank of Canada where he was head of European credit trading in London, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified because the information is private.

Matthew Davies and Mehdi Kashani were appointed interim co-heads of European credit, said Sarah Small, a spokeswoman for the bank in London, while declining to comment on Pearce’s departure. The person who answered Pearce’s office telephone, who didn’t give his name, said Pearce had left the bank.

Pearce joined RBC in 2011 from UBS Group AG where he was co-head of sterling credit and European asset-backed securities, the Toronto-based bank said in a statement at the time.

RBC hired Kashani from Citigroup Inc. in February as European head of ABS and structured credit trading. Davies was head of U.K. credit sales, Small said.
