Harbaugh Reaches Agreement With 49ers to Leave, ESPN Reports

Coach Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers have reached an agreement for him to leave the team after four seasons, ESPN reported, citing a person it didn’t identify.

San Francisco missed the playoffs this season with an 8-8 record. They had reached the National Football Conference championship game the first three years of Harbaugh’s tenure with the team, losing the Super Bowl after the 2012 season to the Baltimore Ravens.

He has been linked with the coaching vacancy at the University of Michigan, where he played collegiately.
