Ecclestone, BayernLB Trade Lawsuits Over F-1 Stake Sale

Updated on

Bernie Ecclestone and Bayerische Landesbank traded lawsuits in the U.K. and Germany in a fight over the 2005 sale of the lender’s stake in Formula One that has been the focus of bribery allegations leading to two criminal trials.

The bank is seeking 345 million euros ($423 million), plus interest, in a suit this week in its hometown of Munich, spokesman Matthias Luecke said today. The 84-year-old Ecclestone, who is chief executive officer of Formula One, filed a separate lawsuit against the lender in London on Dec. 16, according to court records.
