Management consultant Accenture Plc said it plans to hire 1,600 people in the U.K. by the end of August to bolster its technology, strategy, and industry sectors.
The jobs will be added throughout the U.K., including London, Newcastle, Manchester, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, the company said in a statement today. Accenture said it will be hiring at all levels, from experienced executives to entry-level employees.
Accounting and management consulting firms were the biggest contributors to employment growth in London in the first six months of the year, TheCityUK, which represents U.K. financial services firms, reported in October. Financial and related professional services employment in London may rise 3.1 percent to 714,500 by year-end, the group said.
“We are looking for skilled individuals with the drive to excel in a dynamic and fast-moving environment,” said Olly Benzecry, Accenture’s country managing director in the U.K. and Ireland.
More than 450 technology and digital positions will be added, Accenture said, with more than 350 jobs spread across financial services, retail, communications and energy. The company is also hiring 60 apprentices.
Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, with more than 305,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries.
